Each fall, applications are solicited for faculty appointments as Resident Professors at the Wake Forest Houses in London, Venice, and Vienna for the Southern Cone program in Chile. Full-time faculty members who would like to be considered for such an appointment are invited each fall to submit a letter of application and abbreviated CV describing in reasonable detail the goals and nature of the program they propose to offer.
To serve as a resident professor is to be teacher, counselor, business manager, and friend—all at the same time. In addition, resident professors are expected to recruit and market for their program with the goal to fill all available spaces at their assigned location.
Orientation sessions are provided not only to assist with the recruitment process, but also to familiarize selected resident professors with their location and responsibilities. To help defray expenses in traveling and serving abroad, personal financial allowances also are provided.
For more specific information about one of the programs, interested faculty are encouraged to contact the program directors: Kathy Smith (x5456) for London, Peter Kairoff (x5369) for Venice, David Levy (x5107) for Vienna, or Peter Siavelis for Chile (x5451).
